Vollmer Farm Blueberry Recipe Contest Rules - 2015
ENTRY PERIOD
Entries for the contest will be accepted beginning Wednesday, June 3, 2015 and ending Wednesday June 17, 2015 at midnight. This will be called the “entry period”. All entries must be registered online through the Vollmer Farm website during this designated entry period. Registration forms must be completely filled out. Incomplete entries will not be eligible for the contest. There is no fee to enter the recipe contest, however entrants will be required to purchase a Blueberry Music Festival ticket for admission into the event.
ELIGIBILITY
This contest is open to US residents who are 13 years of age or older. Current employees of Vollmer Farm are not eligible to enter. Also, the contest is not open to chefs and culinary professionals working full-time in commercial kitchens or test kitchens.
RECIPE REQUIREMENTS
Entrant must create an original or significantly adapted recipe using blueberries as a key ingredient (preferably Vollmer Farm blueberries. :)). Entrants must choose to enter their recipe in either the SWEET or SAVORY category, which will be designated on the registration form. If entrants want to prepare more than one dish for the contest, they may enter only one in each category (for a total of two) per person. All entrants acknowledge and agree that recipe entries become the property of the contest sponsor (Vollmer Farm), which reserves the right to modify, copyright and publish them for advertising, public relations and promotional purposes in any media without compensation. By entering the contest, you agree to the use of your name for advertising and promotional purposes without compensation.
DAY OF EVENT
On the day of the event, June 20, 2015, entrants should bring their finished product/dish and 3 copies of their recipe. Your “dish” will need to be kept in good condition in a cooler in your car (if cooler is needed) until 5:15pm. The recipe contest coordinator will begin accepting dishes promptly at 5:15pm at the recipe contest tent. We will place your dishes next to premade recipe name cards and begin tasting/judging shortly after at 5:30pm.
TASTING/JUDGING
Entries will be judged on three factors: Taste, Presentation & Highlighting Blueberries as a key ingredient. Names will not be on entries to allow for impartial judging. Entrants are not allowed to indicate which entry is theirs to any of the judges at any time during the event. Winners will be announced at approximately 6:45 to 7:00 pm, before the last band goes on.
