The following information will help you plan so you can make the most of your trip to the farm.
Printable Version
Before Your Trip:
- Please be sure to complete the registration form and send in your $25.00 deposit to reserve your tour date. You will receive an invoice verifying your reservation by email.
- Two weeks before your trip, please complete the attached information form, to confirm the number of students, teachers and chaperones that will attend. Please promptly complete the form because students will be placed in groups accordingly. (We understand small changes may occur, however, this helps avoid unnecessary chaos on the day of your trip.) You will receive an email notifying you of the assigned groups.
- Gather all money (parents and children) and complete the payment form. Designate one person to handle registration when you arrive. ***Remember the cost is $2.00 extra the day of the tour, so the payment form should match the total number of farm visitors.
- Please take time to discuss “farm” life with your students. Please explain that you are visiting a working farm and they will need to dress appropriately (play clothes and tennis shoes). Also, please set boundaries for behavior, including not eating anything unless instructed. (For example, please do not eat strawberries from the vines as you are picking.)
- Please be ON TIME. You should plan to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled tour to allow time for registration.
- Cancellations: If you must cancel your trip for reasons other than weather, please give use a ONE WEEK notice. Failure to do so will result in the forfeit of your deposit.
At The Farm:
- Enter the main entrance and follow the path all the way to the back of the farm. You will be directed when parking.
- One designated teacher should bring the money and payment form to the tour registration booth. If your total is within 10% of your original confirmation, you we will refund your $25.00 deposit by mail.
- You will place your lunches on wagons corresponding to your class’s group name (check your email confirmation).
- Classes should line up according to their assigned group and will be guided from this point forward by a designated “farm hand.”
- When your farm tour is complete, your farm hand will direct you to the Back Forty where you can enjoy fun with your class. You may also choose to visit parts of the farm not included in your tour (The Corn Maze, Hen Pen, Cudzoo, Honey Hut, Goat Petting)
- You may eat lunch whenever you choose. Lunches will be delivered to the picnic area in the Back Forty.
- “Uncle Russell’s Concession Stand” will be opened if you wish to enjoy farm snacks, homemade ice cream, or seasonal treats.
- The farm will close at 2:00 p.m.
If you are visiting us in the fall, you will pick your pumpkin on the way to the bus.
You may also purchase farm trinkets to take home at “Uncle Russell’s” before you leave.
